The Interior Ministry has officially declared Friday, June 6, 2025, a statutory public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Adha.

In a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the public was urged to observe the day nationwide as a holiday.

This announcement aligns with the recognition of Eid-ul-Adha as a statutory public holiday, allowing Muslims across the country to mark the significant religious occasion with prayers, feasting, and acts of charity.

Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of the most important celebrations on the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah—a story revered across the Islamic faith.
