Another philanthropic group, The Friends Club of Philadelphia, a welfare group based in the United States of America, on Tuesday 28 June 2022 presented a cash sum of GHS 10,000 to the Oman FM fund for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Cancer Treatment Centre (KATH).

The fund which is the brainchild of Assin Central Member of Parliament, Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, is to cushion the financial burden of the KATH Cancer Treatment Centre to offer treatment to the poor and the less endowed.

Speaking to NET2 TV NEWS after the presentation, the spokesperson of The Friends Club of Philadelphia, Mr Samuel Appiah who presented the cash on their behalf, said the rationale behind the donation was to support cancer patients who could not afford cancer treatment at the centre.

He said this was the widows’ mite of the group of about 23 members, and appealed to corporate organisations, welfare and support clubs and groups, not-for-profit organisations and individuals from Ghana and beyond to also contribute their quota to the Oman FM fund for the Komfo Anokye Cancer Treatment Fund.

Thanking the group for their contribution and support, the Director of Television at NET2 TV, a subsidiary of Kencity Media Group, expressed his utmost gratitude to the group for their support and also encouraged others to do the same.

To contribute to the fund, organisations, groups, clubs and individuals can also donate their widows’ mite to the Oman FM fund either by sending their contributions to the OMAN FM FLOOD VICTIMS account number 1131000005341001 or to momo number 0542869979 under the registered name of Kenneth Takyi Agyapong.
