The Majority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam, Adoagyiri Frank Annor Dompreh has said, the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo is doing everything possible to cushion Ghanaians with respect to fuel prices and the general economy.

He explained that, the government is really aware of the general hardship across the world including Ghana due to the serious effect of COVID-19 and the ongoing Ukraine and Russia war.

Hon. Dompreh’s comments came as a response to Hon. John Jinapor’s Press conference was held on Friday and he was calling on the government to cushion the prices on fuel for Ghanaians.

The Majority Chief Whip further said, inspire of all the criticisms from the NDC minority, the performance of Ghana’s economy today which is about five percent (5 %) is doing far better than that of the previous NDC government led by Ex-President John Dramani Mahama’s economy which grew by three percent (3%) in 2016 without COVID-19 and the general hardship across the world.

He added that the E-Levy would surely be passed to bring relief to Ghanaians on youth employment, roads and others.

He Said, if the NDC Minority believe that, the E-LEVY is a bad thing, they should together approve it for the government in order to enhance the chances of the NDC party going into the 2024 general elections
