The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, today led the legislative arm of Government to plant trees as part of the Green Ghana Project.

Joining the Speaker to symbolically plant the trees were his first and second deputies, Joseph Osei-Owusu and Andrew Asiamah Amoako respectively, including the Clerks to Parliament who participated in the exercise, as well as staff of the Parliamentary Service.

Addressing the staff at durbar, moments before planting the orchid Bauhinia variegata tree, Mr. Bagbin said by this exercise, Ghana would be making an investment into its future and therefore encouraged all Ghanaians and even the foreign nationals who are living in Ghana to partake in such great national exercise.

Mr. Sumana Bagbin urged everyone who took part in today’s exercise to keep an eye on the trees planted by visiting, watering, and nurturing them regularly for Ghana to achieve the purpose of introducing such a great Nationwide exercise for the benefit of future generations.
