Leading presidential contender of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong, has reaffirmed his belief to win the presidential primaries of the NPP because this time, the party was not in government to intimidate delegates to vote in a particular direction anymore.

This, he said, will ensure the tables are turned in his favour, as there will be no room for manipulation or vote-rigging in favour of a particular candidate.

The 6-term former Assin Central MP made these assertions during a radio interview on UTV in Accra on Monday.

Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong is currently in the Greater Accra Region visiting various constituencies across the region to woo delegates to vote for him in the upcoming NPP presidential primaries to become the presidential candidate for the party.

The seasoned politician said delegates of the party, this time around, are certain that he is the only one among the other aspirants who can wrest power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) without a doubt.

Hon Ken Agyapong mentioned fairness as a critical requirement of the upcoming primaries and said he was satisfied with the party’s stance on the controversial issue of proxy votes.

He also assured his followers that his team has put in place measures to deal with any machination to rig the primaries.

The businessman and politician reiterated his vow to defeat any candidate chosen by the NDC in the 2028 presidential elections and urged NPP delegates to have confidence in his ability to preside over the country and to take care of their welfare and interests, as he has proved over the years.
