Incredible Zigi, a multi-award-winning dance superstar and choreographer, is poised to debut Afrozig Dance Fiesta, a magnificent dance event established and organized by him.
This first edition of Afrozig Dance Fiesta, which will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the UPSA Auditorium, aims to honor dance in Ghana and give a venue where dancers can always look forward to expressing themselves through their profession.
Dance is changing the world, and Ghana’s dance community is thriving thanks to its vital role in the creative arts economy. The Afrozig Dance Fiesta is an annual all-inclusive dance performance that will include communities, dance companies, and individual dancers from around the nation.
A segment of the fiesta has been dedicated to “The Diva Dance Competition.” Its goal will be to find a female dancer who will be developed by Incredible Zigi for a year and enrolled in Afrozig Dance Movement. This aims to promote and attract more female dancers into the Ghanaian dance industry. Former world dancing champion Adjetey Sowah and famed highlife singer and dancer Akosua Agyapong will be the judges.
The purpose of Afrozig Dance Fiesta, according to Incredible Zigi, is to give a platform where dancers can be fostered and held under a large canopy where they can develop. It will also serve as a source of great inspiration, as well as a place to nurture and inspire aspiring dancers.
During the dance fiesta, Adjetey Sowah and Akosua Agyapong will host a Masterclass in which these dancers will be guided through branding, keeping current, and monetization of the dance skill, among other topics.
Various dance luminaries, including acclaimed pioneers, will perform at the event, which will also give assistance and guidance. There will be a combination of musical performances from your favorite artists, including Joey B, Medikal, Sefa, and Kelvynbwoy.
The Afrozig Dance Fiesta is a collaboration between BTL Africa and Guinness – Black Shines Brightest, with backing from Belaqua and Abrantie the Gentleman, as well as MX24 as the official media partner.
