In a bold and unifying call, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Ken Ohene Agyapong, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership to grant amnesty to all suspended party members, including high-profile figures like Paul Afoko and Alan Kyerematen.
Speaking during the NPP’s National Thank You Tour at the Takoradi Technical University, Ken Agyapong emphasized the critical need for unity as the party rebuilds after the 2024 general elections. He noted that reconciliation with aggrieved members is crucial if the NPP hopes to regain the confidence of its base and the wider electorate ahead of the 2028 elections.
“We must grant amnesty to all suspended party members, from Paul Afoko to Alan Kyerematen,” Agyapong stated, stressing that healing old wounds would strengthen the party’s foundation. He called on national executives to prioritize forgiveness, open dialogue, and a spirit of togetherness in order to present a united front to Ghanaians.
Agyapong’s call for amnesty aligns with his broader message during the Thank You Tour, where he repeatedly highlighted that a divided house cannot stand—a sentiment he underscored with references to biblical scriptures like Mark 3:25.
