Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong has expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of the revered Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, whose death was formally announced at the Asanteman Council Meeting held on August 11, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.
In a heartfelt tribute, Ken Ohene Agyapong described the late Queenmother as “more than an esteemed advisor to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II; she was a mother to us all.” He commended her unwavering loyalty to Asanteman and her lifelong dedication to duty, noting that her legacy would serve as a shining example for generations yet unborn.
“Together with my wife, Christiana, a proud native of Asante Mampong, I extend our heartfelt condolences to His Majesty the Asantehene, Nananom, Asanteman, and the entire nation on this profound loss. May her noble soul rest in perfect peace,” Ken Ohene Agyapong said.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was celebrated not only for her role as the mother of the Asante Kingdom but also for her deep influence in preserving the cultural heritage and unity of Asanteman. Her passing marks the end of an era in the Ashanti Kingdom’s history.
The nation joins the Asante Kingdom in mourning the loss of a leader whose life embodied service, wisdom, and grace.
