The Government and People of the Republic of Vanuatu, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade, and the Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana extend heartfelt condolences to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the Government, and the good People of the Republic of Ghana following the heartbreaking loss of eight distinguished Ghanaian nationals in the military helicopter crash that occurred en route to Obuasi in the Ashanti Region on August 6, 2025.

This tragic incident has shaken the very foundation of public service and military honour in Ghana and has resonated across the continent. We join the nation of Ghana and the entire African family in mourning the fallen heroes whose service and dedication symbolized progress, unity, and the unwavering pursuit of national development.

These individuals exemplified courage, commitment, and patriotism. Their lives of service will remain etched in the annals of Ghana’s and Africa’s collective memory. We share in this grief with solemn respect and pray for comfort for the bereaved families and the entire nation.

May their souls rest in perfect peace.
