Nigerian afrobeat star, Wizkid will be headlining one of Ghana’s iconic sports arenas for his all-new much-anticipated concert dubbed “Wizkid Live”

Scheduled for 40,000 capacity Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra, on December 10, the concert marks his second major show in Ghana in two years, after he headlined the Afrochella Festival at the El Wak Sports Stadium in Accra in 2021. He will perform songs off his fifth album ‘More Love, Less Ego,’ which went live today via Sony Music RCA.

The show, organized by Live Hub Entertainment, is the latest in the Grammy-winning musician’s ongoing tour, which will see him at the Madison Square Garden in the US on November 16th and the Ziggo Dome Amsterdam in the Netherlands on November 24th. “Wizkid concert forms part of a series of showcases aimed at revolutionizing the live music scene in Ghana and Africa,” the organizers said

Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the singer/songwriter is one of Nigeria’s biggest R&B crossover acts, having worked with Drake, Skepta, and Chris Brown, among others.

He first found regional success in 2011 with the massively popular single “Holla at Your Boy,” which appeared on his debut album, Superstar. Wizkid went global in 2016 after his collaboration with Drake, “One Dance,” soared to number one in 15 countries, resulting in a multi-album deal with RCA, which issued his Caribbean-influenced major-label debut, Sounds from the Other Side, in 2017. The acclaimed Made in Lagos followed in 2021, featuring the internationally charting hit single “Essence.”
