The seventh edition of the annual UPAC Basketball Championship has officially been launched.
The short event held at the De’lish Restaurant in Accra was to usher in the 2020 edition of the competition.
32 Tertiary Institutions will battle for a place in the finals to be held on the campuses of the University of Ghana.
The Ghana Institution of Journalisms becomes the only new entrants as they will be making their maiden appearance in the UPAC Championship having participated in the GUSA games early this year.
Record holders University of Ghana will look forward to winning the competition for the fifth time in succession.
Meanwhile Rite Sports, organizers of the competition have put in place measures to make this year’s edition more interesting by introducing the UPAC updates section to interact with fans and players.
As part of their efforts to enhance education among basketball talents, Rite Sports will further opportunity organize the UPAC Reading Project at the St Kizito Catholic School in Nima.
The UPAC Basketball Championship seeks to develop basketball program for Tertiary Institutions in Ghana and has served as a Unique platform for talents produced players for Ghana’s Male National teams.
The 2020 UPAC Basketball Championship is sponsored by Telecommunication giants MTN, CAL Bank and Decathlon.
