The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has challenged former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress to tell Ghanaians what he wanted to do now, that he could not do in 8 years as vice president and president of the republic of Ghana, when the NDC was in power.

The challenge was thrown by Deputy chairman of the party’s national campaign team, Mustapha Hamid, on Monday, when he address a press conference at the headquarters of the NPP in Accra.

Highlighting a tall list of achievements by the NPP as it promised in its 2016 manifesto to Ghanaians, the minister of state in charge of Inner Cities and Zongo Developement said from the implementation of free shs, through the restoration of allowances, the provision of healthcare to the people including ambulances and recruitment of nurses to the digitization of the economy, the NPP has far outperformed the NDC.

He said the NPP has proven to be best managers of the economy especially in the area of agriculture, where govt policies such as Planting for food and jobs has buoyed the agric sector, with the nation now exporting food rather than importing food as it occurred under the previous Mahama administration.

He added that the NPP has reduced inflation and unemployment from when the NDC left office and said it was proof that the Akufo-Addo Administration has managed the economy better.

He said for the first time since independence, inner cities and zongos have had a Ministry established to bring to minimize social inequalities, with massive developments ongoing, to bring relief to their communities.

Mustapha Hamid stressed that the zongos will no longer be deceived by the NDC, as the NPP cares much better for their well-being. He said for the first time, 40 students from the Zongos are currently studying medicine in Cuba and no more will the zongo youth be used as tools for violence.

He concluded by emphasizing that the NDC is incompetent and asked what more could John Mahama do now that he could not do in his 8 years in power.
