Assin Central Member of Parliament Hon Kennedy Agyapong on Monday presented a cheque of US100,000 to the 37 Military Hospital as part of his promise he made to construct an ultra modern Cardiothoracic Centre for the hospital in Accra.
On June 22 this year, the philanthropic legislator cut a sod for the commencement of work for the 80 bed Cardiothoracic Centre in fulfillment of a promise he made last year when he made a donation of some medical items including personal protective equipment during the onset of Covid-19 pandemic in Ghana.
The cheque will be used for paying the expenses of medical personnel who will be manning some specialized equipment to be used at the proposed Cardiothoracic Centre at the 37 Military Hospital.
The trainee medical technicians, eight in number, will be undergoing their training in India.
He said this was important because the medical technicians needed to be trained to man the equipment.
He also revealed that some of his friends have agreed to help and support what he has started and urged all to keep faith alive.
Lt colonel Adomako on behalf of the Military High command and the 37 Military Hospital, expressed of the trainees for the philanthropic gesture and promised they would not let the efforts of the.
In an interview with the press later, Hon Kennedy Agyapong gave a detailed account of reasons behind the presentation.
He shed more light on some of his friends who wanted to come on board.
He also hoped that come same time next year the edifice would be completed.
He also used the occasion to call on all Ghanaians politician or not to contribute to the development of the country.
The commanding officer of the 37 Military Hospital, Brig General Obodai also shared his thoughts on the presentation, with the media.
Raphael Adevu, Site Foreman assured the public that the work will be completed on schedule.
