Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday endorsed the appointment of Prof Samuel Kweku Bonsu as the new rector for the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), as an excellent choice for the renowned institution.
The Vice President gave his unflinching approval when he gave his remarks at the investiture of Prof Samuel Bonsu as the new rector of GIMPA at Legon in Accra.
Touting his qualities as an astute academician, Dr. Bawumia said the choice of Prof Bonsu was an excellent one for the institution and he was honoured to be present for the occasion after revealing his close working and academic relations with the new rector.
The Vice President used the occasion to assure the new rector that his office at the presidency was open for consultations and assistance anytime he felt the need, for the development of GIMPA.
He takes over from Professor Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, whose tenure ended on August 31, 2021.
Prior to his appointment, Prof Bonsu was the Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (APQA) at GIMPA.
Prof Bonsu attended Prempeh College, Kumasi, and later studied at Simon Fraser University, Canada, and the University of Rhode Island, the USA, where he obtained a Ph.D. in Business Administration.
