The flag bearer of the Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor has noted that the Minority Members of Parliament have planned to frustrate the government business so that they can win the 2024 general elections.
According to Madam Akua Donkor, the NDC government passed a lot of levies that did not benefit the country, so she doesn’t understand why the Minority caucus must fight the Majority over the passage of E-Levy which can bring developments into the country.
In an interview with the press, she narrated that, she foresees some NDC gurus are behind the opposition of the passage of the E-Levy.
“NDC government did more than this during their time, they are intentionally fighting the Majority in parliament to frustrate government business so that they can win the 2024 general elections, I am pleading with Ghanaians to support the government to develop the country”, she reiterated.
Moreover, she emphasized that heated arguments over the passage of electronic taxation will not help the country, perhaps appealing to Ghanaians to support its passage.
“Obviously the government is broke, I think both Majority and Minority Members of Parliament must agree to approve the passage of the E-Levy without voting to develop the country, they should avoid politicizing it”.
