Hosts South Africa won all four of their matches as they emerged victorious from the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation Africa Southern Region Qualifier for the African Para Games in Johannesburg.

Angola will join South Africa at the African Para Games in Ghanaian capital Accra after finishing in the top two at the Vodacom Mandeville Indoor Sports Centre in the South African city.

The matches between the two teams could have gone either way with Angola giving South Africa a run for their money in both.

Angola led 35-31 in the first of those only to see South Africa come from behind to triumph 45-41.

The home team were also forced to dig deep to overcome Angola 44-41 in a thrilling final game of the tournament.

Zambia were the other nation involved in the qualifier, but they were well beaten in all three of their fixtures.

South Africa thumped Zambia 80-14 on the opening day of the event before powering to a 83-10 victory over the same opponents 24 hours later.

Angola condemned Zambia to their biggest defeat in Johannesburg as they cruised to a 103-15 success.

The inaugural edition of the African Para Games is set to take place in Accra from September 3 to 12, despite the African Games being postponed due to financial problems in Ghana.
