The Adabraka Elders Football Club (FC) has been bestowed with bonuses worth GH₵12,000 by the Nii Noi Nortey Foundation for their remarkable achievement in securing promotion to the second division of Ghana football.
After two failed attempts in the past, Adabraka Elders triumphed over Abor Arsenals with an impressive 4-1 victory in the Middle League tie held at Dansoman Liberty Park last Saturday, thus becoming the first team from Adabraka to qualify for the highly anticipated second division.
During the enthralling Middle League campaign, Adabraka Elders witnessed the outstanding performances of their captain, Charles Nii Lante, who was awarded the prestigious title of Most Promising Player. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Richmond Fiati showcased his exceptional skills between the posts, earning him the well-deserved recognition of being named the Best Goalkeeper of the Middle League.
In a joyous celebration held in honour of the team, the patron of Adabraka Elders FC and founder of the Nii Noi Nortey Foundation, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, announced a generous bonus package amounting to GH₵10,000 for the team. Mr. Nortey presented GH₵5,000 to the coaching staff, led by the commendable Richard Nai, while the dedicated players received GH₵3,000. The passionate Adabraka Elders Supporters group was also rewarded with GH₵2,000 for their unwavering dedication and fervent support throughout the arduous journey.
In addition to the bonuses, Mr. Nortey fulfilled his pledge to donate GH₵500 for every goal scored on a monumental day.
Furthermore, he expressed his commitment to providing a vehicle for the team’s coach if he manages to lead them to Division One.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Nortey affirmed that his financial commitment stemmed from his role as the patron of the club and his personal goal of seeing the team qualify for Division Two.
He expressed his pride in the team’s remarkable achievement, emphasizing that their triumph had brought immense honour and distinction to the Klottey Korley constituency.
Additionally, he highlighted that investing in the youth through football constituted a crucial objective for the Nii Noi Nortey Foundation, further solidifying their dedication to nurturing young talents.
Coach Nai, speaking on behalf of the team, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Nortey for his unwavering support and generous rewards.
Coach Nai assured everyone that their target for the upcoming season was not only to prolong their stay in Division Two but also to strive for promotion to Division One in their second season.
While he expressed confidence in the current squad’s abilities, Coach Nai revealed plans to strengthen the team’s roster by securing the services of five new signings, further enhancing their chances of success in the upcoming season.7
