Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong, a presidential contender for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the party’s November 4th contest, has implored the party’s grass root supporters to consider him as the ‘biblical David’ who was endorsed by God to finally liberate the Israelites from their squalid status, and usher them into a new era.

He said Ghana at this juncture needs a man with a vision for the nation to lead and manage the country selflessly to attain the economic development that is required for Ghana.

The Assin Central MP made these remarks at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region at the Kumasi edition of the Showdown Walk, a health walk organized by various fan and support groups of Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong in his undertaking to become the flagbearer of the NPP.

The walk saw in attendance various groups of NPP youth and women, traders and artisans from all walks of life who walked, sang, and danced along the route to the assembly point, where they were addressed by the affable legislator.

Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong, who is a founding member of the NPP used the occasion to caution against discrimination and intimidation in the party and urged the party to curtail the excesses of some supporters of other aspirants.

He once again outlined some areas including agro-processing and tourism, where Ghana under his leadership will benefit immensely and spur further economic growth.

Hon Ken Agyapong assured Ghanaians that he would govern the country like a private company, to ensure he reaped the best rewards for Ghana.

According to the organizers, the next in the series of ‘Showdown walks’ is expected to take place at Cape Coast in the Central Region on Oct. 21, 2023.
