A church service in memory of the late Martin Kwabena Kwakye, the former Director of Radio at Oman FM, a subsidiary of Kencity Media Ltd., was held today at the premises of Kencity Media Ltd. at Zongo Junction, Madina.
The service was moderated by Rev. Isaac Kwasi Acquah, Superintendent Minister at the Methodist Church of Ghana, and Head of the Adenta Methodist Circuit, in the Greater Accra Region and assisted by Dr. Christian Quaidoo, also of the Adenta Methodist Church, was exclusively attended by management, and staff of Kencity Media Ltd.
Exactly a week ago, Mr. Kwabena Kwakye, popularly known as Wofa KK passed on at the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Legon after being sent there for emergency care, while in the line of duty on Oman FM’s Morning Show.
In her brief remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Kencity Media Ltd, Madam Stella Wilson, noted that as human as we are, we should be mindful of the transient nature of our existence.
She urged all to keep the departed soul in prayers for God’s blessing and protection.
The officiating pastor, Rev Isaac Kwasi Acquah in his brief highlighted God’s promises for everyone in the midst of grief.
He said he hoped and prayed that the staff remain encouraged in God’s faith during these moments of grief.
Rev. Acquah urged the staff to take a leaf from the biblical Jeremiah, who went through pain, loss, violence, and loneliness among others but strengthened his encouragement and faith in God.
The Head of Programs at Oman FM, Dr. Moses Okine, expressed his adulation at the professionalism of Wofa KK and shared his working experiences with the late general manager.
In a related development, Madam Joyce Zimpare, a communications officer of the New Patriotic Party and a regular panelist at Kencity Media has joined the chorus, eulogizing the life and works of the late Wofa KK, when he paid a visit to Kencity Media to sign the book of condolences in memory of Wofa KK and commiserate with the company on the loss of its senior management member.
