The Council for Science and Industrial Research (CSIR-STEPRI) has called on the government to reduce taxes on technological equipment to enhance farmers uptake on digital technology in Ghana

According to CSIR-STEPRI Significant progress has been made in identifying the opportunities that digital technologies offer in agriculture, These technologies have the potential to revolutionize agriculture by enhancing productivity, improving livelihoods, and ensuring food security.

In Ghana, the adoption of digital technologies among smallholder farmers has shown promise in transforming traditional farming practices, such as Digital tools can provide critical information on weather patterns, market prices, pest management, and efficient farming techniques, enabling farmers to make informed decisions and optimize their operations.

According to Rose Omari the uptake and scaling of digital technologies among Ghanaian farmers need to be enhanced. Therefore CSIR-STEPRI is calling on the Government to reduce taxes on technical equipment to improve their production capacity.
