Former Attorney General Godfred Dame has accused Dr. Dominic Ayine of prioritizing personal interests over the state’s, stating his motives were clear for all to see.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, February 14, Mr. Dame condemned the decision by the current Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine to withdraw the state’s appeal in the controversial ambulance case.

Dr. Ayine recently withdrew the state’s appeal against the Court of Appeal’s split decision, which upheld a no-case ruling in favour of the former Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

However, Mr. Dame dismissed this justification as weak and unacceptable, arguing that Dr. Ayine could have simply allowed other lawyers from the Attorney General’s Office to pursue the appeal.

He urged Ghanaians to recognise Dr. Ayine’s actions as an attempt to shield his former client, Dr. Ato Forson, from accountability.
