Dr Kingsley Nyarko, Director, NAB says the act of the Getfund does not stipulate that sponsorship must be given to needy but brilliant students alone but it rather gives sponsorship to everyone who want to further his/ her education that will benefit the country.
According to the auditor’s general report which sited some politicians who have benefited from the Getfund have not breached any law.
He said if Ghanaians think the Getfund act must be changed he doesn’t have problem but as at now the act does not prohibit anybody from accessing the fund.
Dr Kingsley Nyarko further indicated that every Ghanaian being a Minister, MP, Journalist who want to broaden his knowledge should be supported.
Speaking to Nana Ampofo Ayeh Oman Fm Parliamentary correspondent, he the recent issue about Getfund should not be an issue for discussion at all.
Dr Kingsley Nyarko said is not even only politician who have benefit from Getfund Scholarships in the country.
