As part of promoting sustainability of cocoa production in the country, the Ghana Cocoa Board and African Development Bank has signed a loan facility worth six hundred million dollars to help the cocoa sector in the country.

Speaking to the Public Relations Officer, Cocoa Board, Mr Fiifi Boafo he said the money is going to be used for rehabilitation of cocoa farms, support entrepreneurs who are into cocoa value addition and promotion of cocoa consumption in the country.

Mr Fiifi Boafo spoke to the media when the Directors of Chief Executives of African Development Bank called on the management of COCOBOD as part of their visit to Ghana.

The African Development Bank are in Ghana to engage different stakeholders, government, Private institutions and NGOs on the impact of African Development Bank activities on Ghana.

The Public Relations Officer called on the African Development Bank to effect release of the said amount for them to embark on the project.

Mr Bright Okogu Dean AfDB executive directors indicated that the six hundred million dollars will soon hits the account of COCOBODafter all the due processes has taken into consideration.
