Government has within three years trained some 400,000 Individuals in the area of ICT training in various parts of the nation as a means of bringing technology training to the doorsteps of all Ghanaians.

Hon Ursula Owusu Ekuful,the sector minister hinted that the Ministry’s Girls in ICT project is a clear example of initiative which have seen hundreds of young females being trained in the field of basic ICT which according to her is going a long way to impact the various societies and nation at large.

She stated that, government will empower the youth with information and communications technology (ICT) skills to enable them contribute towards the nation’s rapid technological progress and productivity.

Mrs Ekuful, speaking to the press at the commissioning of ICT center at Kwashiekuma in the Ga West Municipal again said to become active players who can compete in today’s digital world there is a need to equip most citizens with the requisite skills and training and as well expose them to devices.

According to her,the objective for training the mass in ICT training, she observed, was to develop their problem-solving skills by teaching them to explore the world of technology.
