President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has entreated communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to harp on the need to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols in their communication messages to the electorate, ahead of the December 2020 elections.
The President made this clarion call when he engaged in a virtual meeting via zoom with the communication team of the party on Sunday.
President Akufo-Addo said notwithstanding the encouraging recovery figures, we as a nation should not let our guards down in the fight against the pandemic.
He used the opportunity to assure Ghanaians of the commitment by government to ensure the safety of students in school.
With all set for political parties to hit the campaign trail imminently, President Akufo-Addo urged the party’s communications team to trumpet loudly the governments achievements in the last 3 and half years.
He said policies rolled out by the government has positively affected all parts of the country and it was important for the communicators to highlight them in the messages.
President Akufo-Addo reminded the need for communicators to recall the state of the nation in various sectors, when the NPP government assumed power and compare it to now, to inform the electorate of the good works being undertaken by the govt.
It can be recalled that, President Akufo-Addo in his third attempt at the presidency, defeated then resident John Mahama by almost a million votes, making up 53.56% with John Mahama garnering 44.69%, becoming the first one term President under the Fourth Republic.
