President of Tamale FC, Ibrahim Gagbuni wants the Ghana Football Association(GFA) status quo to work effectively should Wilfred Osei Kwaku ‘Palmer’ win his case at Court Of Arbitration for Sports(CAS).

Currently, there is a case at the Court Of Arbitration for Sports(CAS) filed by Founder ans bankroller of Tema Youth Football Club Wilfred Osei Kwaku ‘Palmer’ against the Ghana Football Association, for his disqualification at the 2019 GFA Elections.

Palmer, former Black Stars Management Committee Chairman was disqualified prior to the 2019 Ghana Football Association Presidential elections. Though, the elections has been held which saw Kurt E.S Okraku taking over from Kwasi Nyantakyi following his resignation.

Palmer filed his case at CAS in October last year, after the then Normalization Committee led by Dr. Kofi Amoah had organized the elections. Vetting Committee was set up to vet all Presidential candidates including the Regional Football Association Chairmen, where he(Palmer) was disqualified from contesting the seat.

Fast-forward CAS has scheduled to sit on the case next week after months.

And according to Ibrahim Gagbuni should CAS rule infavour of Palmer, there should be re-election as per the FA’s status quo says.

“The law must work if Palmer wins the case it must work and if palmer wins the case we must have re-election because palmer was denied rightful to contest”
