The Akwatia Constituency of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, has likened the outgoing Member of Parliament for the area Mercy Adu Gyamfi alias Ama Sey to Jezebel in the Bible for causing the downfall of the party in Akwatia in the just ended Parliamentary elections

The Akwatia Constituency Executives have therefore served notice to dismiss Ama Sey from the party effective January 7, 2020, when her tenure as MP elapses.

According to them NPP lost the Parliamentary seat to the NDC after its Parliamentary Candidate Ernest Yaw Kumi polled 18,742 votes against NDC’s Henry Yiadom Boakye alias Okoyo who garnered 19,899 votes due to certain machinations.

The Akwatia Constituency Organizer of the NPP Kwadwo Owusu Aduomi blamed the loss to skirt and blouse votes engineered by the outgoing MP who still feels embittered over alleged unfair treatment during the Party’s primaries which led to her defeat.

He, said the action of Ama Sey is a resemblance of Jezebel, for not reconciling with the party despite interventions by President Akufo-Addo and other revered personalities in the country.

Meanwhile,The Party has also revealed, it will suspend en masse polling station executives who are loyal to Ama Sey and went round to campaign skirt and blouse votes against the NPP Candidate Ernest Yaw Kumi leading to his defeat in the just ended parliamentary election.

Meanwhile some of the party faithful after the press conference expressed worry about what the MP and some executives of the NPP took the party through before and during the 7th December general elections and at the end causing the lose of Parliament seat of Akwatia Constituency.
