The Deputy Director ( Head), Procurement and Stores at the DVLA, Amb. Prof Robert Tay, has been adjudged the Public Sector Procurement Personality of the Year, at the 6th Edition of the Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Awards ,2024 at a colourful ceremony in Accra.

Amb Prof Tay was also awarded for being listed as a member of the Top 30 Procurement and Supply Chain Leaders at the ceremony.
Under his astute and indefatigable leadership, his outfit , DVLA, was also adjudged as the Public Sector Procurement and Supply Chain Team of the Year ( Gold Category) as well as tbe Excellence in Procurement Operations( SOE).

According to the organisers of the prestigious awards, the ceremony sought not only to celebrate and reward stakeholders who drive excellence in the Procurement and Supply Chain industry, and motivate innovation and inclusivity, but also to show appreciation and commitment for nurturing the positive impact of the profession on businesses.

Having been recognised and awarded as the Public Sector Personality of the industry since 2018 till date, Amb Prof Tay, has also been consistently named as the Top 20 Procurement and Supply Chain Leader, as well as Top 50 African Procurement and Supply Chain Leader and has won several awards for the DVLA , through his professional and innovative leadership.

Anb Prof Tay who is a seasoned Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist ,with over 25 years of industry experience., is a Charterd fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply , CIPS-UK, a Charterd Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport , CLT-UK and a Chartered Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Procurement- GIP.

He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance, CIPG- Texas, USA, and doubles as the Country Director of CIPG-Texas in Ghana. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the Ghana Communication Technology University, GCTU, Accra.
