Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called for unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following his defeat in the 2024 presidential election. In a statement, Bawumia emphasized the need for the party to come together in the face of the loss and focus on rebuilding and strengthening the party for future challenges.
Bawumia, who ran as the NPP’s vice-presidential candidate, acknowledged the disappointment but urged party members to put aside differences and work towards the party’s rejuvenation. He underscored that the NPP’s success depends on collective effort, mutual respect, and the preservation of the party’s ideals.
The call for unity comes as the NPP grapples with its electoral setback and prepares for the upcoming political transitions. Bawumia expressed confidence that, with cooperation, the NPP could regain its footing and continue to play a key role in Ghana’s political landscape.
