The Deputy Chief Farmer of Akwatia in charge of the alternative livelihood project, Hayford Kuma has appealed to government for an oil palm factory within the Akwatia community.
According to him, government through the Minerals Commission in September 2019 distributed over 200,000 seedlings of palm seedlings to be planted on over 3,000 acres of land for interested individuals as an alternative livelihood project.
He explained that in some few time to come Akwatia will be the leading producer of palm produce hence there’s a need for government to put up a palm factory,to help process the produce which will be in abundance.
This was discussed when Board Members of Minerals Commission paid a working visit to some beneficiaries of government’s alternative livelihood project.
MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon,Lydia Alhassan who’s a Board Member of the Miinerals Commission has expressed satisfaction of the ongoing project.
