Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, the former chief executive of the Ejisu Juaben Municipal Assembly has passed away.

He died on Sunday, 6 October.

The former Ejisu Juaben MCE had been battling health issues for several months prior to his death.

In addition to his role in local governance,  Yamoah Ponko was also a key figure in sports administration, having served as a member of the management team of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most successful football clubs.

His passing marks the end of a notable career in both public service and sports management.

The late Afrifa Yamoah Ponko was well-known for his leadership in the Ejisu Juaben Municipal Assembly and his dedication to the development of the area.
