The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the resumption of the Ghana Premier League with the Matchday 23 fixture between Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak and New entrants Young Apostles kicking off on Saturday, after a month’s suspension.

The resumption of the Premier League comes after broad consultations with major stakeholders on the safety and security of the players, teams’ management and match officiating officials at all venues across the country.

 

This follows Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s threat to boycott the League following the murder of a supporter of the club, Francis Yaw Frimpong AKA Nana Pooley during the League match between Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko on Sunday, 2nd February, 2025 at the Nana Konamansah Park.
The rest of the weekend fixtures are as follows: League leaders Bibiani Gold Stars take on Nations FC as the weekend’s top liner, Medeama vs Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea vs last on the log Accra Lions, Karela vs Basake Holy Stars, Vision FC vs Kpando Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko take on struggling Legon Cities.
Dreams vs Aduana, the last game of the fixtures will be played on Monday 10th March, 2025.

The game between Nsoatreman FC and FC Samartex 1996 is scheduled to be played at the Bibiani Duns Park because of the ban imposed on Nana Konamansah Park following the 2nd February incident.
