The new Head of Political Section of the US Embassy in Ghana Manoela Guidorizzi Borges today paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of Parliament Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh and the Minority Ranking Member of the Committee Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who is also the MP for North Tongu, at Parliament House today.
They discussed issues covering bilateral relation between Ghana and the USA , trade between the two countries and Visa restriction by the US among other issues in a closed door meeting .
Speaking to Oman Fm Parliamentary correspondent Nana Ampofo Ayeh after the closed door meeting, Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh said even though trade volume between Ghana and the US is high , there is the need for more efforts to be made to raise it further.
On the issue of Visa restriction by the US , Hon Frank Annoh Dompreh expressed optimism that the issue will be addressed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Shirley Ayokor Botwey has been holding discussion with US officials on the issue.
