The Director of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) in the Twifo Ati-Morkwa District of the Central Region Mr. Samuel Appiah Frimpong has expressed his worry about the increasing rate of how people infringed on other people’s rights.
In an interview with Oman News, Mr. Samuel Appiah Frimpong revealed that a lot of cases the commission worked on last year (2021) were regards to guidance forcing children under age in marriage, family members forcing widows to vacate from their spouse’s residents, neglecting of children by parents and guidance and all other forms of human Rights Abuse.
He stated that informants refused to assist the commission on alleged corruption cases for the necessary action to be taken against offenders which he described as “very worrying”.
Mr. Appiah throws more light on the duties carried out by the commission and explained that the government (nation) intentionally established the commission to steadfast in justice delivery, in other not to compromised justice and also to help the less privileged in the society. He said, there are no charges in delivering their duties.
He finally disclosed that since 2012 their office accommodation was displaced by flood, the commission has been operating in a rented office accommodation and the commission has become handicapped to afford to be in that rented office.
He said the commission has been served by the owner of the rented office accommodation to review the contract or vacate from the place by the close of July.
Meanwhile, an official letter has been sent to Twifo Ati-Morkwa District Assembly to help get office accommodation but the assembly also responded that there is no office available for them, hence they are appealing for immediate intervention to be taken before July as the property owner has warned.
