The Minister for Communications and MP of Ablekuma West constituency Ursula Owusu Ekuful has stated how sorry she feels for Madam Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang being chosen as the running mate for Former President, John Dramani Mahama with a very appalling track record in the political circles.
According to the outspoken Minister,Madam Jane Opoku-Agyemang as a woman,presided over the intimidation of Former Chief Justice, Mrs Sophia Ekuful by the Montie 3, which according to her was supervised under her watch with her massive endorsement of this inhumane act by the Montie 3.
She argued that Jane Opoku-Agyemang has never stood for the right and equity of women hence has nothing new to offer in the gender circles.
Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful again argued that Madam Jane Opoku-Agyemang superintended over a supposed progressively Free S.H.S where students were made to pay Gh1500 to GH1700 per student in some schools. It is on record that, monies budgeted for and approved by Parliament to be paid on behalf of students as day students were never paid till date.
“As Education Minister, teachers were paid three months’ arrears for three years of work, sometimes more than that and sometimes less than that.
Yearly incremental jump in salary scales of teachers was wickedly cancelled,” she stated
However, Mrs. Ekuful stated categorically that the nomination of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang does not in any form pose a threat on the ruling New Patriotic Party since they believe the leader (John Mahama)is still incompetent.
