The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison has cautioned people who sell sanitizers to desist from taking advantage of the demand for the product in the wake of the coronavirus crises.
According to the Gender Minister, it is not fair for traders to capitalize on the pandemic to over-price hand sanitizers as it interferes with the global goal of fighting the spread of the virus.
She added that the increase in the prices of the product will affect slot of Ghanaians and they may be unable to afford it.
Hon. Morrison unveiled the role the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in fighting the spread of the virus, which is; educating people to make their own sanitizers and not be victims of sanitizer over-pricing.
She also suggested that Ghanaians should resort to chewing cocoa beans as it can help boost their immune systems, which is a requisite for fighting the virus.
