Manchester United win FA Cup after beating rivals Manchester City 2-1 in Wembley final

Following the victory, some United players dropped to their knees in celebration on the pitch, while others sprinted towards them from the technical area.

And a beaming Ten Hag got a congratulatory hug from City manager Guardiola after claiming his second piece of silverware in as many seasons, following last year’s League Cup victory.

Later, when asked if he had any idea about his future, Ten Hag said: ”

“I don’t think about this. I’m in a project and we are exactly where we want to be. We’re constructing a team.

“When I took over it was a mess at United and we are on our way to construct a team for the future, and that will go with ups and downs.

“What you see is the team is developing, the team is winning. At the end of the day it’s about winning trophies, and the team also plays through an identity.

“But you need the players to be available, you need a strong squad in top football, especially when you play in England.

“There is still a lot of work to do but we have value in the squad, we have high potentials who are progressing very good.

“Two trophies in two years, it’s not bad. Three finals is not bad. But we have to keep going.

“If they don’t want me any more, then I go anywhere else to win trophies because that is what I did my whole career.”
