Minister for Communication and MP for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has indicated that Ghana is at the verge of signing on to a Public Key Infrastructure which will help organisation like passport office, registrar general and even individuals to issue certificates and transact business through the electric signature.
Speaking to the media on the launch of the Public Key Infrastructure,(PKI) she said the system is very trusted and very authentic which no one can enter into the system.
The Minister for Communication, Ursula Owusu also indicated that the Public Key Infrastructure has also come at the right time when Ghana is going to host the headquarters of the African Continental Free Trade Area
Moreover the Public Key Infrastructure will help electronic commerce within the African continent and electric payment system.
She said public announcement will start next week for the operationalization of the system in Ghana.
