The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Authority (NSA) on Tuesday met with Presidents of all Sports Associations and Federations (Contact Sports Division) to adopt various measures of government (with input from the Associations /Federations) following President Akufo-Addo’s removal of restrictions on contact sports to allow them to train and organize competitive sporting activities.

Professor Peter Twumasi DG of the NSA chaired the meeting on behalf of Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon Isaac Asiamah.

The leadership of various sports thanked the Government for the excellent work in managing the pandemic since March when all sporting activities were suspended as part of measures to fight the Coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.

They also appealed to the government to absorb the cost of testing for all elite sportsmen and women returning to our stadiums and training centres.
