Mrs. Alma Pokua Adade Prempeh, the wife of the running mate of the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, has promised to lead an advocacy for the recognition of special children in the society.
She lamented that the parents of the special children go through a lot in life due to the stigmatization they suffer which kills their morale and discourages them.

Mrs. Adade-Prempeh encouraged the parents not to be discouraged but rather garner hope and faith, because if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected on December 7th and becomes the next president he will end their suffering.

Mrs Opoku Prempeh was speaking at the Adabraka Rehabilitation Centre, where she paid a visit, to connect with and support persons with disabilities and special mothers in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
She agreed that even for normal children, it’s not easy dealing with them, so for those who are special, very high care and patience and extreme motherly love is needed to cater properly for them.

She asked for God’s blessings for them especially the stigma they go through which she say its not easy.
She stated that parents of special children should not have to suffer the challenges they face, but unfortunately, there is no one advocating for them.

Mrs. Adade-Prempeh assured them that she would lead an advocacy for them, but her efforts would be more effective if her party is in power. She therefore pleaded with the gathering to vote for Dr. Bawumia on December 7th.

The Former Oti Regional Minister, who was with the campaign team, remarked that previously, persons with disabilities (PWDs) were discriminated against and not allowed near high positions. However, President Akufo-Addo changed the narrative

The Founder and Executive Director of the Special Mothers Project, Hannah Awadzi, said that sometimes it is worrying that parents of children with such conditions are not involved in policy and decision-making processes.
