Minister for Roads and Highways , Hon Kwasi Amoako Atta has commissioned the newly improved Tema com.3 junction road
The road was opened to the public on 28th of June, 2019 as part of the commencement of operations by Meridian Ports Services, Tema port.
It started in January 2019 after a sod cutting by MPS, with support from Roads and Highways ministry and the ministry of Transport.
The project was solely financed by MPS and is valued $9 million about GHC50 million.
Commending the work done, Hon Kwasi Amoako Atta noted that the beach road junction suffered from serious traffic especially during peak hours which impedes the movement of Private and commercial vehicles within Tema therefore the expansion will alleviate transport challenges and also enhance traffic flow to and from the expanded Port.
Meanwhile the Tema metropolitan assembly has promised to ensure that temporary structures won’t be raised by hawkers at the road side to bring out the beauty of the concrete road and avoid a possible traffic.
speaking to the media mayor of Tema, Hon Felix Mensah Nii Annan La warned hawkers to stay away from that road to avoid punishment.
