Nigerian Cocoa Supply Chain has come to Ghana to engage in a consultative meeting on the Living Income Differential( LID).
To understudy Ghana COCOBOD so that Cocoa Farmers in Nigeria can benefit.
Engr. Abdullahi Abubakar, Director of Federal Department of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Nigeria, reading a statement at the meeting said, it is a great privilege for them to understudy the Ghana Cocoa Board so as to enable Nigeria to gain insight into the operations of Living Income Differential (LID) as accrued to smallholder Cocoa Farmers in Ghana.
According to him, Cocoa is the highest non-oil contributor to Nigeria’s GDP and Nigeria is ranked number four among cocoa-producing countries in the world.
The Chief Executive of COCOBOD, Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, upon welcoming them schooled them on some practices carried out in Ghana such as Quality Assurance, Marketing among many.
He called on Cameroun to emulate Nigeria’s steps to that they can have a formidable front that is Ghana, Cote D’ivoire, Nigeria and Cameroun to face the rest of the world in cocoa trading.
