The Ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will from today 10th September, 2021 begin a nationwide exercise of compiling a fresh register and the issuance of new membership cards at a fee of GH¢10 across the 38,000 polling stations of the country.

This is part of the party’s restructuring and reorganization efforts.

The registration will take place at the Polling Station registration centres across the various electoral areas.

The party’s General Secretary, John Boadu explains that the registration exercise of the party would start the election of polling station executives in January 2022, and then the election of constituency executives would follow in March 2022.

According to him, the elections of regional executive members will take place in May 2022, while the elections of national executive members will take place in September 2022.

He noted that a party member who would go through the registration exercise would need another party member to vouch for him or her before the membership card would be given.

He however said the registration form was free of charge for every member who wanted to be re-registered as a true party member.

He also made it known that the party would begin a new ideological school for party members from March next year, with the administrative office located at the NPP head office at Asylum Down.

He encouraged members of the party to go to their respective polling stations and get their details captured in the membership register, which shall be kept at the polling station levels, and updated every six months, in line with Article 3(10) of the NPP Constitution.
