The National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Stephen Ayesu Ntim has described the decision of the Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong not to resign from the NPP and help the party’s 2024 election campaign as heartwarming, despite the frustrations of some of his ardent supporters.

Highlighting the value and importance of the Assin Central MP to the cause of the ruling party, Mr. Stephen Ntim, said the objective of the NPP is to break the 8 cycle in Ghana’s democratic governance. To retain political power for a third term in office, would be more challenging without Hon. Ken Agyapong involved in the national campaign.

He noted that the Assin Central legislator has been a great asset not only to his constituency but to the NPP as a whole in most of the electoral victories of the party.

The Chairman noted that he would do anything in his capacity to address
all the concerns raised by Hon. Ken Agyapong and commended Mr. Agyapong for his boldness and loyalty to the cause of the NPP, and called on all members who supported him, to unite as one force for the common goal of the party.

The decision of Hon Ken Agyapong to join the campaign efforts of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP has seen some ground shaking reaction from supporters of the NPP.

While many NPP faithful are rejoicing in his decision to put his shoulders on the wheel of the NPP to execute the electoral campaign, some have expressed displeasure over the move.

This prompted Hon Ken Agyapong at his recent birthday celebrations to address and apologized to his disappointed fan base for not communicating his decision earlier to them while re-echoing his loyalty to the elephant family.
