The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has chastised government for introducing Community Mining Programme, saying it has no promising future for the country.
He has rejected the project launched by the President of the Republic few weeks ago saying that, the future of the people of Akyem Abuakwa will not solely depend on the community mining project introduced by the government.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin further lashed government for failing to have a prior discussion with the chiefs before deciding to launch and enforce the project.
The King however, advised government to concentrate on the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) programme of which he believes is the future of the country and more susceptible to Ghanaians and described the agricultural policy as a sustainable one which will take Ghana out of its economic woes.
The Okyenhene made this remarks when the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh,yesterday, paid a courtesy call on him at his Palace in Kyebi as part of his five days working visit to the Eastern region.
