The President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo says the lack of maintenance culture in Ghana is costing us too much.
He has therefore called on politicians, traditional leaders, heads of institutions to imbibe the maintenance culture and help save the nation from excessive spending in infrastructure.
According to the President, it is not a good attitude to wait for our institutions to deteriorate before using huge sums of money to renovate or reconstruct it.
Sighting the state of the ‘Afia Nkwanta” hospital in the Western region he expressed displeasure in the deteriorated state.
The President made this remarks at a visit by the Western Regional house of chiefs to the jubilee house and their call on the government to help renovate the ‘Afia Nkwanta” hospital.
The President also noted that his government will soon pass a law that would ensure that our minerals such as the bauxite, manganese, and others such as Cocoa are not exported in it raw state.
