President John Dramani Mahama, has held bilateral talks with his Sierra Leone counterpart President Julius Maada Bio in Freetown the capital of Sierra Leone.
The talks which aimed to improve and strengthen economic, social and cultural relations between the 2 West African nations, was part of President Mahama’s Good Neighbourliness tour of West Africa, after becoming President in January.
During his visit, President Mahama engaged in high-level discussions with President Julius Maada Bio, exploring opportunities to enhance trade, investment, and economic collaboration for mutual benefit and long-term growth.
The two leaders also discussed security, economic stability, and governance challenges affecting the West African sub-region through strategic partnerships.
Ghana and Sierra Leone share strong historical ties in education, trade, and diplomacy, with Mahama’s visit reaffirming their commitment to strengthening these bonds for future economic and social progress.
President Mahama later interacted with some Ghanaians based in Sierra Leone.
