Hon. Ursula Owusu Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West and also the Minister of Communication and Digitization has made a statement that the date of sim card registration will not be extended again.
Speaking during a consumer forum on telecommunications service at Prempeh assembly hall Kumasi, she mentioned that, the date of the sim card registration was supposed to end on 30th June 2022 but the ministry released that, many people were having challenges in registering so it was extended to July 31st 2022 without any extension so those who will not be registered by that time will not have access to telephone calls.
She also advised the public to be aware of cybercrime and use the internet platforms wisely without being a victim and also urged NCA to regularly organize such a forum to get and resolve the challenges of the consumers on the telecommunications service.
