Dear Youth of Ghana, As we welcome the new year, I send my warmest greetings to each and every one of you, on behalf of the Ministry of Youth & Sports-GH.

The past year has been marked by an unrelenting commitment from the government towards uplifting the youth, and as we step into 2024, the fervour continues.

Under the leadership of H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, we have implemented many initiatives for the youth, aimed at empowering them and also developing their skill to ensure their well-being.

Among these programs are: the YouStart Programme, which recognizes the power of youth entrepreneurship and provides young entrepreneurs with the essential tools and resources to turn their innovative ideas and creativity into thriving businesses. Other programmes include the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme-NEIP, which is a pivotal initiative that supports young entrepreneurs through mentorship, training, and financial assistance. Others are the Planting for Food and Jobs, Youth in Agriculture, National Youth Volunteers Programme, and the Skill Towards Employability and Productivity (STEP) project.

Also, the African Continental Free Trade Area offers boundless opportunities for our youth. It is an avenue through which they can leverage their innovative ideas, products, and services to access markets not only within their countries but also across the African continent. AfCFTA has the potential to unlock the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth, offering them the platform they need to transform their dreams into reality.

I strongly encourage every young Ghanaian to explore these initiatives, seize the opportunities presented, and contribute to the growth of our great nation. On the sports front, we are thrilled about the upcoming 13th African Games, #Accra2023.

The Eastern Regional Stadium, along with its auxiliary facility, marks the first among the ten was commissioned by H. E. the President on the 27th of December.

This signifies a giant step towards enhancing sports infrastructure, and I urge all to explore these facilities and actively participate in sports activities. The AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire is fast approaching, and our beloved Ghana Black Stars will be showcasing their prowess.

Let us rally behind our team, offer our unwavering support, and extend our best wishes. Your collective encouragement goes a long way in boosting their spirits. As we navigate the year ahead, may it be filled with opportunities, growth, and success for each one of you.

Remember, you are the heartbeat of our nation, and your dreams and aspirations are our collective priority.

I wish you all a prosperous and fulfilling New Year!

Hon. Mustapha Ussif, Minister of Youth and Sports
