As part of their efforts to lessen the financial burden on government during this ongoing Africa Games, the Stanbic Bank Ghana has donated 200,000ghc to Team Ghana through the Ministry of Youth & Sports.

In a short ceremony at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra on Thursday, the Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Kwamena Asomaning expressed his outfits’ desire to support Team Ghana to continue excelling in the 13th edition of Africa Games on home soil.

 

 

“It’s a great pleasure to visit the some facilities for the games. We are focus on driving Africa’s growth with sports inclusive. The games currently being held is fully aligned with our purpose. Ghana developing sports through this games is course that we fully support.”

 

“We understand the economic challenges our country is going through and govt alone cannot shoulder the cost of hosting this event. So we decided to support the event with an amount of 200000 Ghana cedis to augment what other entities have done”.

 

The Minister of Youth and Hon Mustapha Ussif appreciated the effort by Stanbic Bank and used the platform to appeal for other corporate bodies to come and support.

“We are grateful to Stanbic Bank for this huge and timely support towards Team Ghana.

 

This support will help us as we plan to pay the accumulated perdiems of the athletes. We appreciate your contribution for all sports development”.

“I want to urge other corporate bodies to come and support this Games because government alone cannot do it without their supports considering the number of athletes, officials, volunteers etc.”

The ceremony was attended by some members of the Local Organizing Committee headed by Dr Kwaku Ofosu Asare.
